We will explore the geology of the Porcupine Mountains July 28-30. We will visit Lake of the Clouds, see the town of Nonesuch, and view several waterfalls. On the last day, we will have an opportunity to tour the Humboldt Facility where the Eagle Mine’s ore is processed.

In terms of logistics, we will start the trip at Potawatomi Falls on the morning  of July 28th – so you should plan to arrive in the Porcupines area by July 27th . We will finish in the late afternoon of the 30th – participants can depart from the Champion/ Humboldt area.

The registration fee of $40.00  for MESTA Members includes the cost of a guidebook to the area.  Registration for non-MESTA members is $50 and includes the cost of a one-year MESTA membership.  Registration is online only by credit card.  Click here to register.

Due to limited parking and facilities at many of the sites in the park, we will be limiting the number of participants to 15 people and will be encouraging participants to car pool.
